Terry Marketti 

While attending GSW this Gentleman was an active member of the student body participating in sports and other student organizations. Terry represents the GSW graduating class of 1974

At 18 years of age he began his service to his community as an elected official of the South Wilmington Village Board.  He served on this board for 22 years.

In 1978 this Panther was hired as a Sheriff's officer.  During his 34 years of service with the Grundy County Sheriff's Department he served in the jail, telecommunications, Patrol Deputy, Investigations, Detective Sergeant, and Chief Deputy. Office Marketti was elected to the position of Sheriff in 2004, a position he fulfilled admirably until his death in December of 2012.

 His life was dedicated to serving his home community and Grundy County. He served on numerous boards for charities and other organizations. Some of them included:

Big Brothers / Big Sisters of Will / Grundy County

Grundy Area public Action to deliver shelter (PADS)

Community Foundation of Grundy County

Grundy Economic Development Council

Breaking Away

Gardner Village Board

No Tolerance Task Force

The Grundy County Emergency Telephone System Board
