Principal's Message
Dear Gardner-South Wilmington High School Families,
It is with great excitement and gratitude that I introduce myself as the new principal of Gardner-South Wilmington High School. I am honored to join such a proud school community and look forward to building strong relationships with our students, families, staff, and community.
As we begin this new school year together, my commitment is simple: students will always come first. Every decision we make will be guided by what is best for our students' academic success, personal growth, and overall well-being. I believe every student deserves to feel valued, supported, challenged, and inspired each day they walk through our doors.
I am excited to work alongside our dedicated teachers and staff to create a positive learning environment where high expectations, respect, and kindness are the foundation of everything we do. Together, we will celebrate successes, learn from challenges, and continue to build a school culture that makes everyone proud to be a Panther.
I also believe that strong schools are built through strong partnerships with families and our community. I encourage open communication and welcome your ideas, support, and involvement as we work together to help every student reach their full potential.
My family is my driving force to be the best version of myself each day! My wife (Kristen) and I have three wonderful boys Jaycob (13) Bryce (11) and Bennett (2). We are excited to be expecting our final piece to our family puzzle, a precious baby girl coming this fall!
I am entering year nineteen in education and I am excited to navigate through the 2026-2027 school year with our students, staff, and community. Thank you for welcoming me into the Gardner-South Wilmington family. I cannot wait to meet each of you and begin this exciting journey together. Here's to a fantastic school year filled with learning, growth, and unforgettable achievements.
Go Panthers!
Sincerely,
Rodney Monbrum
Principal
